Dear compatriots,

I rejoice heart with all Nigerians, especially our Christian brothers and sisters in the celebration this year of the birth of Jesus Christ.

As we celebrate Christmas this year, I think it is very appropriate for us to reflect on God's love rightly embraced the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ.



During his sojourn on earth, Jesus repeatedly reminded his disciples and followers of the peace that comes amid trials and tribulations on earth.

There is no better time than now in our nation's history to pray for divine leadership to overcome our present challenges.

We can have peace in Nigeria if we learn to tolerate and appreciate each other, respect for constituted authority; And being the guardians of our brethren in words and deeds.

During this period we must remember to offer special prayers to God for all our heroic citizens who have paid the ultimate price to restore peace and security in the North and other hotspots in the country. Remember also in our prayers to the security forces on the front line in the ongoing battle to rid our country of terrorism and violence.

We must not forget the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in our environment and those who have incurably suffered as a result of the activities of insurgents and terrorists.

Our immediate priority is to reduce the poverty of Nigerians in order to stimulate the economy rapidly. I want to assure the Nigerians that our government is doing all it can to make life easier for everyone.

Let us renew our hope in the unity, progress and prosperity ordained by God of our great nation.

I wish all travelers and safe holiday moves unforgettable that we celebrate with our family and friends.
