The acting president of the Commission for Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, responded Saturday to consult the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) on recent allegations of corruption directed against him.

The AGF consultation Abubakar Malami SAN Monday released revelations contained in a report of the State Security to the following Nigeria Senate was founded to reject the appointment of Magu as EFCC's substantive chairman.
At first, the Senate was reluctant to give reasons for rejecting Magu's appointment, but was forced to do so after much public pressure.
President Muhammadu Buhari then ordered the AGF to examine all federal government officials accused of corruption.
The corruption charges against Magu included to receive doubtful gifts to N40 million paid as rent for Mr. Omar Mohammed, who was under consideration and have homes that were beyond their means.
President EFCC received 48 hours to respond to the AGF consultation on 19 December. However, the content of the response to the Magu request has not yet been made public, PUNCH reported.
The Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, is also suspected of being a target of the probe ordered by the President. However, it remains unclear whether the AGF took action with respect to the allegations against Lawal.
