Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Harry Purwanto, said Tuesday that the Embassy of Indonesia in Nigeria will no longer participate in treatment visas, but only in the collection of visa applications.
Purwanto revealed this new visa policy at the Nigeria News Agency in Lagos. Under the new policy, Nigerians seeking visa in Indonesia for whatever reason, will now have to submit their visa application to the Indonesian Embassy in Nigeria from which will be sent to Indonesia for processing.
This revealed, will result in a longer waiting period and, as such, advised Nigerians to start their application at least two weeks in advance.
"Under the new policy, like the embassy in Nigeria, we have been removed from visa processing. All we now have to do is take the visa applications and send them to Indonesia for processing. Now we have to take the authority of Jakarta. So we mean Nigerians who apply for visas to Indonesia now start their applications at least two weeks in advance, so we can submit their applications in time for Jakarta, "said Purwanto.
