The Nigerian Senate said it rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Senate leader Mohammed Ali Ndume made the clarification in an interview with correspondents of the State House on Monday.
He was speaking after a closed meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ndume insisted that the Senate only resigns from the Magu projection last Thursday "pending when the security issues related to it are clarified."
He said the Senate will meet Buhari Nigeria in its next line of action on Magu given the security report against him.
Ndume also pointed out that the Senate did not accuse the Secretary of Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, abuse of power.
Senator Borno said the Senate's inquiry into the SPF was still ongoing and that Nigerians should avoid drawing premature conclusions.
