Delivering his weekly speech last Christmas on Saturday, Obama wanted families in the United States, a holiday season.
The President and First Lady recalled his first speech eight years ago and thanked the honored Americans for serving.
The American Obamas also thanked the troops for their service and urged people to find ways to support them during the holiday season.
"One of the best parts of the holiday season is spending time with special people in your life, and for me it means getting help from my best friend (Michelle) for our annual address Weekly Christmas.
"And the greatest gift that Michelle and I have received over the past eight years, has been honored to serve as President and First Lady.
"Together, we fought our way back from the worst recession in 80 years, and got unemployment at a minimum of nine years.
"We got health insurance for 20 million Americans, and new protections for people who already had insurance.
"We made the United States was more respected throughout the world, he took the lead in the struggle to protect this planet for our children, and much, much more.
"With so many measures, our country is stronger and more prosperous than it was when we arrived here, and we hope to take advantage of the progress we have made in the years to come.
"Tomorrow (Christmas), more recently, the first family, we will join our Christian brothers from all over the world to rejoice in the birth of our Savior.
"And when we tell his story of that holy night, also we remember his eternal message, that of boundless love, compassion and hope.
"These are values that help guide the Christian faith not only my family, but American Jews and American Muslims, not Christians and Americans of all origins.
"And no one better incarnates the minds of men and women who wear the uniform of our country and their families.
"So, as we wait for the New Year, we decide to devote ourselves again to values we share and on behalf of all Obama - Michelle, Malia, Sasha, Bo, and Sunny - Merry Christmas, World, "said President Two Americas.
Meanwhile, Michelle described the Christmas celebration at the White House over the past eight years as a privilege, saying that Obama was standing by to give you all the help he could get.
"Celebrate the holidays at the White House over the past eight years has been a real privilege. We have been able to accommodate over half a million guests ... our chefs have outstanding pastry cooked holiday cookies 200,000 ... Barack and the American people dealt with countless papa jokes.
"The White House festive theme this year is" The Gift of the Festival "and our decorations reflect some of our greatest gifts as a nation: from our incredible military families to the impact that changes the life of a good education .
"The idea that we are the guardian of our brother and the guardian of our sister, we should treat others as we would like to be treated.
"And we care for the sick, feed the hungry ... ... and welcome overseas ... no matter where they come from or how they practice their faith.
"As always, many of our troops are away from home at this time of year, and their families are serving and sacrificing with them, and their courage and dedication allow us to enjoy this season. Tried to serve well as they served this country.
"Go JoiningForces.gov to see how you can honor and support service members, veterans and military families in your community - not only during the holidays, but throughout the year.
"And I wish you and your family a good and happy 2017 ... Thank you and God bless you," said the First Lady.
President Obama was inaugurated the 44th president of the United States on January 20, 2008, the only black in the history of the United States to be elected president.
