A woman officer FRSC, who is a single mother, said that non-payment of wages had affected because she had been unable to shop for their children.

She said, "Everyone knows that property prices are rising during Christmas and that is the reason why most people try to make their purchases in early December. It is bad enough that we are seeing a recession, but the government should not aggravate our condition of holding our payment.

Another official, who identified himself only as Abiodun, told our correspondent that in the last five months, the corps officials had received wages on the seventh day of the following month.

He added that the agency and the government did not explain to officials why things had gone wrong.

Abiodun said, "There have always been bad eggs in the agency, but the fact that most officials are paid well reduces the number of bad eggs.
