President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday ordered the investigation of all the projects implemented by the nine new universities created by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Buhari made this known at the call ceremony of one of the universities, Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State.

He warned that his administration would not tolerate corruption in federal universities.

Buhari said the survey will eliminate waste, ensure transparency and accountability in the management of resources.

Represented by the Executive Secretary, National Commission of Universities (NUC), Prof. Adamu Rasheed Abaubakar, Buhari said that universities should set an example in good governance and financial.

He said,

"There is no room for corruption in academia. Very soon, we will go all the projects implemented by our new federal universities to ensure that the funds allocated to their judicious use. "Our universities should be an example of good governance and financial management. Therefore, there is no room for corruption in academic. "
