Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno on Sunday called on Christians to pray for the 1.5 million displaced people who have lost their homes and loved ones.
In his Christmas message to the people of the state, the governor also urged Christians to extend their purse hands for the less privileged.
"While citizens who are not directly affected by the insurgency intend to enjoy the long Christmas holidays, must have time to think of the serious trauma faced by more than 1.5 million children in the" State of Borno.
"They were forced to leave their communities to become displaced in camps or living in strange places, including refuge outside Nigeria.
"I, on behalf of the Government of Borno State, congratulate my Christian brothers and sisters in Borno State on Christmas and pray for a peaceful and joyful celebration," he said.
According to him, the state government has worked in the phases of restoring the infrastructure destroyed by the insurgents to return normality to the communities affected by the violence.
Therefore, he asked people to support the government to overcome the security challenges. (YES YES)
