Former drug trafficker and ex-inmate, David Norman, graduated from Columbia University at the age of 67 as the oldest student in his class. This great exploit of the former inmate who has faced many arrests and imprisonment has had two periods shows that it is never too late to start again.
Norman had a tough start in life. At 15 years old and consumed heroin and soon gained money on the streets that sell drugs and thirty-five years was addicted to substances sold.
He was sent to prison in 1967. Decades later he was sent to a correctional facility where he spent six years for culpable homicide after stabbing a man in a street fight. They were those six years that changed his life. While he was there, David turned his love of money into books and began to learn and teach other inmates.
He left in 2000, a man changed and got a job as a community worker in a hospital where he helped drug addicts. This work led him to work and study at Columbia University.
