A woman was bitten by a wild snake in a zoo in Australia. Australia's Zoo officials say it was the first time in its 46-year history that a customer had been bitten by a snake. The reptile was a wild and is believed to originate from the swamp area of the Australia Zoo.
"The snake has been identified as a green snake tree, which is a common occurrence in wetlands, as it is the perfect environment for your favorite food, frogs," said a spokesman.
"Although the green tree snakes are not toxic, we followed the first aid protocol and the client was taken to the hospital."
The emergency services were called to attract Queensland on Steve Irwin Way just after 1 pm and took the woman, 20, to the Caloundra Hospital.
Terri Irwin later tweeted: "Happy to inform guest and the snake are good."
